Research Assistant Professor at Prairie View A&M University
Dr. Serita Whiting is a Research Assistant Professor at Prairie View A&M University in the College of Justice Studies, Department of Juvenile Justice, and serves as an affiliated research faculty member with the Center for Justice Research. Her research focuses on the intersectionality of race and gender and their impact on crime and delinquency. Dr. Whiting is currently working on projects that examine geographic patterns and clusters of aggravated assaults and classify the social and economic causes contributing to violent crime. Through her scholarly agenda, she aims to promote socially just change for marginalized individuals through research, teaching, and social activism.
