Ben Yisrael

Policy Analyst

Ben Yisrael is a community advocate with over 20 years of experience in grassroots and political organizing. His service includes strategic support for community-based organizations, outreach and coordination for local, state, and nationally elected officials. Dr. Yisrael earned his Ph.D. in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Policy and Public Administration from Texas A&M University.

As a strategist Ben has extensive experience in building community relationships, campaign management, and organizing at the grassroots level. Most recently, he has worked with the Seattle and King County’s Department of Public Health, the Center for Multi-Cultural Health, King County Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, and Seattle Department of Transportation on issues ranging from health equity, drug policy, food justice and city planning.

His organizing experience over the last two decades has given him the opportunity to cultivate relationships with youth organizers, elected officials, religious leaders, union organizers, small business owners, and community advocates. His work with people from diverse ideological, religious, and ethnic backgrounds, as well as traditionally marginalized communities, has broadened his perspective and helped him develop an appreciation for the mosaic of humanity. His aim is to use his experience to curate a world where social and cultural design is informed by equity and understanding. He is committed to equity based community building.
