Dr. Jennifer Wyatt Bourgeois, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Texas Southern University’s Center for Justice Research, has been awarded a $100,000 grant to study firearm deaths among individuals recently released from incarceration. “By understanding how these risk factors interact, we can design better interventions to prevent gun violence during the first year after release. This research focuses on one of the most vulnerable populations affected by gun violence.”
