With over two decades of experience in both academic and field practitioner settings, Dr. Craig brings practical insights into his research. His extensive experience includes roles as an adult probation officer, public safety police officer, and juvenile detention counselor, which have provided him with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges within the criminal justice system.

Dr. Craig’s strong educational foundation supports his expertise in the field. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University in 2004, following a Master of Arts in Law Enforcement & Justice Administration from Western Illinois University in 1994 and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Rust College in 1988. **In 2019, he furthered his qualifications with an academic certification in Teaching and Learning Strategies for Higher Education from Harvard University.**

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Craig is a proud father of two young adults. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and playing bass guitar.
