Jameila “Meme” Styles is a dedicated researcher and social innovator focused on disrupting traditional research frameworks with BIPOC-led, lived-experience protocols. Her work centers on integrating anti-racist technology and evidence-based methodologies to uplift Black and Brown communities, making her a national leader in data equity. Recognized as an MIT SOLVER for anti-racist technology in the United States and awarded a two-year fellowship from the Social Science Research Council in 2022, Meme’s research and advocacy continue to push the boundaries of data justice.

In 2015, Meme founded MEASURE, a nonprofit social enterprise aimed at promoting evidence-based projects to bring real-life stories behind data to the forefront. As a catalyst for systems change, MEASURE has provided thousands of free data support hours to Black and Brown-led organizations and established strategic partnerships with institutions like the University of Texas and Texas Southern University.

Her leadership has earned her numerous accolades, including serving as the past-Chairwoman of Miss Juneteenth, receiving the Austin Police Chief’s Award of Excellence, being named an Austin 40 Under 40 Winner in 2019, past-Chairwoman of African TV5 (AFTV5), and the DivInc Nonprofit Leader of the Year in 2021.

Mrs. Styles’ academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Communications, a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in National Security, and a Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University. Additionally, she is certified in Performance Measurement from George Washington University College of Professional Studies. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University.

Outside of her professional life, Meme is the wife of a U.S. veteran and a mother of four.
